Dr. Orie Achonwa is a clinical researcher, professor, published author, award-winning healthcare innovator, and highly sought-after on-air expert with appearances on ABC, CBS, Fox, NBC, The Brian Tracy Show, eHealth Radio, among others. Dr. Orie has over a decade of experience in adolescent and women’s health through her professional practice, service on national panels, and advisory roles for various health and wellness initiatives. She believes that when you take better care of yourself better things start happening to you. This perspective inspired her to seek to shift the current landscape of health and make it more attainable for all. She’s collaborated with women’s retailer The Limited, Girl’s Inc, the Bergman Emmy’s Style Lounge, and many other well-known brands with this goal of taking wellness to the masses in mind. Also, Dr. Orie has brought her own wellbeing brands into existence that intersect the categories of multimedia, skincare, food, and fashion.
Prior to developing her growing portfolio of consumer health brands, Dr. Orie spent the past decade of her career designing a number of award-winning and recognized innovations in the medical space. Most notably, a health surveillance system currently in use by a hospital and a patient assessment tool which earned her a healthcare innovator title from North America’s largest managed health organization, United Healthcare.
In 2011, she received a community service award from the Mayor of Dallas and in 2018 Thrive Global shortlisted Dr. Orie as one of 99 female founders to watch alongside fitness icon Jillian Michaels and Jessica Herrin, CEO and founder of multimillion dollar global accessories brand Stella & Dot.
